Kombat Global is proud to announce that the first Kombat Kun Khmer event is scheduled to take place on June 5, 2026, in São Paulo, Brazil, as part of the Kombat Challenge Series.
This landmark event marks the official debut of Kun Khmer, Cambodia’s national martial art, on a global professional platform under Kombat Global.
As part of its continued expansion across multiple combat sports disciplines, Kombat Global has officially added Kombat Kun Khmer as an official competition platform within its international event structure. This strategic addition reflects Kombat Global’s commitment to honoring Cambodia's traditional martial arts while elevating them into the global professional arena.
Widely regarded as one of the oldest striking arts in the world, Kun Khmer is often referred to as the “Father of Muay Thai.” In recognition of its historical and cultural significance, Kombat Global has taken a leading role in elevating and promoting Kun Khmer on the global stage.
In February 2026, an official Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between General Khov Chhay, President of the Kun Khmer Federation, and President Rick W. Shin of Kombat Global, establishing a strategic partnership to develop, promote, and expand Kun Khmer through international professional events and global media platforms.
Following this announcement, all Muay Thai fighters worldwide are officially invited to compete in Kombat Kun Khmer Championships under Kun Khmer rules and regulations, recognizing their shared roots, and providing a new global platform for elite striking athletes.
